Bro. and Mrs. John Kraybill are happy to be back in Elizabethtown. Although they grew up in Elizabethtown and had deep roots at the Masonic Homes and in the local community, they had planned to spend their retirement years in Florida.

John spent much of his time as a youth at the Masonic Homes. In fact, he and his three sisters, who were all musically talented, often played at Sell Chapel during their youth. His sisters played the piano, flute, and violin, and John was a trumpeter.

During the 1960s, John served the Elizabethtown Borough as a Councilman for four years. He willingly and proudly displays newspaper articles written about him during his time of dedicated service.

In 1975, John joined the Abraham C. Treichler Lodge No. 682, Elizabethtown, that meets in the Masonic Temple on the Masonic Homes' campus. Jean is a member of the Order of The Eastern Star Chapter No. 84 in Leesburg, FL, but is planning to transfer her membership to a Pennsylvania Eastern Star chapter.

A graduate of Elizabethtown College, Jean was employed as Secretary to the Dean of the school. She always enjoyed visiting the Masonic Homes' campus while growing up in the community.

Bro. and Mrs. Kraybill had not entertained the thought of moving back to Elizabethtown. However, while attending one of the reunions conducted by the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania in Florida, they looked at one another and said, "We want to go home!"

Their move to retirement living resulted in the Kraybills agreeing that it was the best decision they ever made. They simply love retirement living at the Elizabethtown campus. As is the case for many other residents, they have only one regret: "We should have done it sooner!"

If you are considering a retirement community, plan now for your future. Consider retirement living at the Masonic Homes at Elizabethtown, where you'll enjoy peace of mind and security in knowing that quality services, including health care on a fee-for-service basis, are available should you need them.
